Last weekend was the Canaan Old Home Days. We’re not sure how it involves “old homes” but it did include a lobster dinner, craft fair, soapbox derby, belt sander race, cow pie bingo, and a dance. Bryan and I walked around the craft fair and saw some of the time trials for the soapbox derby, but missed the rest. It was a good chance to get a look at our fellow town residents — everyone was out and about. We had a family birthday party on Sunday so we had to miss out on the cow pie bingo, but we have to do it next year. For those of you who don’t know how this is done, you basically grid out a field, put money (bet) down on a square, let loose a couple of cows, and wait to see what square they shit in. This is high action in Canaan!
