Fairlee Drive-In

This weekend we went and saw a double feature at the Fairlee Drive-in, Good Luck Chuck and 3:10 to Yuma. Also, being drive-in novices, we killed the battery in our car listening to the movie through our car radio. So we had to sit up by a working speaker box half way through 3:10 to Yuma. Did I mention it was cold and raining and I had to hold a speaker box up to my ear? At least we brought chairs.

Now that we know the drill, we will definitely be back next year — maybe we will even stay at the Motel where you can watch the movie through your room window, just to be sure we stay dry….

A year ago today we left Chicago for New Hampshireland. Its still strange.

Fall

Its fall (my favorite) and we are doing fall things…. raking leaves, putting away the garden, and getting ready for the winter.

2 years!!

Today’s our 2-year wedding anniversary! We decided against our planned weekend trip to Montreal and instead visited the scene(s) of the crime(s) — the cabin in Granby and the church in Westmore. They’re as pretty as ever, though, as per usual we missed the “peak” of the foliage color there. We had a lovely canoe ride on Long Pond and watched some loons catching fish. Tonight we try out the new Seasons Restaurant in Enfield. It’s not MAS, but hopefully it will be good.

This week we were in Indiana for Tyler’s and Anna Liss’s wedding. It was a tease being so close to Chicago and not being able to see friends, but we got to see family. The extended Gause family is alway entertaining, plus we got to hang out with the brothers Gause and Paul and Deidre. There was even a reunion of Red Alert!, this time in green and with brass knuckles.

Canaan Speedway

Ah , the races! We went to check out the dirt track at the local Canaan Speedway. Our favorite was the spectator participation, where spectators can try their hand, and their car, at drag racing. Watching a Subaru kick ass (and rub tires) against a Chevy truck was simply friggin’ awesome.

Ah, Canaan!

They say a picture’s worth a 1,000 words.

Go Fisher Cats, go!

We went to a baseball game in Manchester yesterday with some friends. The New Hampshire Fisher Cats! They lost, but we got to witness great minor league antics and Bryan got to work on his tan. Check out the new sleeveless-Bryan!

Garden Explosion!

The garden is exploding with zucchini and squash. I’ve been frantically looking for new recipes for using all the bounty. Any suggestions?
